As we move into the Spring Season I’m reminded of a line by Anne Bradstreet, the 17th Century American poet:
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
Until you’ve lived in Hawaii awhile, you might not recognize the signs of seasons turning. Snow and ice don’t play a part but the changing light, different winds and wave patterns in the ocean all tell of new seasons in the islands as distinctly as the first tulip rising through melting snow does on the mainland. I love spring for what it tells us about starting fresh, building anew. I have found you get out of life relative to what you put into it, so now is the time to decide - in this season of rebirth, what is important? For me, it is family, friends, and loved ones alike that should always be the first priority. Embrace the gift of life and the gift of those close to you with all that you have. You’ll find your return on that investment will be far greater than you imagined. My journey, my life, revolves around my family and my religion. The joy I feel watching my children’s eyes light up on Easter morning far surpasses that of selling a multi-million-dollar property.
After twenty years of watching cycles, I know that today is an incredible opportunity to invest in your future. The time to buy, I can tell you, is when things look their worst. Good always follows bad, and vise versa. Many economic factors on the horizon are indicative of positive future growth on Maui.
